Reasons I'm getting Pro: screen real estate, extra GPU for OpenCL in Snow Leopard. Reasons I'm bummed: glossy screen and chicklet keys suck.
After many, MANY people insisting I get the MacBook Pro (over the MacBook) and after some deliberation, I've conceded to do just that.
Aight, that's it, I'm all out. Big ups to @joshuatopolsky and the entire @engadget crew -- you guys are making me proud!
BTW, big ups to @gruber for nailing today's announcements. Engadget got a lot right, but John completely nailed it.
Recording an all-Android roundtable tomorrow -- any super geeky questions that you're burning to have answered? Email podcast at gdgt
Received a notice of attempted delivery today while I was at Apple -- says it's for a 40 pound package from a major PR firm. I'm afraid...
BTW, I'm looking for one, possibly two (unpaid) interns for gdgt. Must be SF-based. Feel free to ping me, ryan at gdgt.
Looks like the blue dot is GPRS -- much love, Twitter lazyweb!
@zpower No, GPRS is the solid blue square, isn't it?
Anyone know what the little blue dot in the iPhone 2.0 status bar is? Not seen here, but next to reception meter: http://tinyurl.com/3qy8sj
@peterrojas I know, right? Actually not a TON to discuss... but I did totally call Apple keeping the plastic MacBook as the new low-end.
Damn, Engadget absolutely KILLED it today. Well on the way to the biggest day ever. Really makes me miss the day to day stuff!
And for the record, I curse the glossy screens. Never been into them, and still am not. Lots of complaints by angry journos at the event.
So, do you think I should get the MacBook or the Pro?
At Apple! All the live coverage is going down here: http://tinyurl.com/52u8ae (I'll be doing photos again.)
Up a little early, getting prepped and ready to hit up the Apple event.
Wow, I so did NOT authorize Wired to re-subscribe me. In fact, I wish it did just the opposite. Ugh.
Looks like Engadget is finally the Official Blog of CES! Stoked, I worked for months on this, glad it's finally done and out.
Unexpectedly busy day -- looking forward to tomorrow morning's Apple laptop announcements though.
@janowski Def heard of it, but I download very little media that would actually need it!
