Just hit Sylmar fire smoke on 101 @ Calabasas. Whole Valley is dark & gray. Sky over ocean nr Malibu same, but from Corona/OC fire.

@ Zuma Beach playing frisbee w Mikey. Slight smell of smoke from Sylmar fire, but otherwise gorgeous day. Very warm for Malibu.

Detoured big rigs getting stuck on hairpin turns on 23 S of 126. That hwy's like Roadrunner toon. Can easily drive off cliff if not careful.

Looking @ smoke from Sylmar fire creep low southwesterly across Valley. Careful driving on 101 & 405 in Valley. That smoke is low & thick.

Just heard about Monetcito. Seems even more intense than Malibu Canyon last year. Feel horrible for folks affected.
