@lovejoy76 the real systemic risk is a deep US recession from long-overdue consumer pullback. Fixing up balance sheets may well not avert.
@philbogle still depressingly little-known that US stocks have had decades-long periods of negative real gain. Shiller rolls eyes.
@lovejoy76 the rub is that there is no guarantee the bailout will avoid a recession; all the fundamentals stay the same the day after.
Actually can't decide if intervention is unavoidable to avoid disaster, or if we should just let the place burn.
Telling that only on my work Linux machine do I sit down and immediately feel a sense of relief and comfort. Not so with MacOS, XP or Vista.
