By the way, Dad's surgery was a success and now, 1 week later, he's home. All is on schedule like clockwork. It's been almost too perfect!

I can't believe how freakin' busy it's been the last two weeks. I need a personal assistant just to do laundry. Sheesh!

Dad's much better -- he was walking around (with assistance) yesterday and even ate a little jello. Me? I got a hospital cold.

Dad's improving day by day. Today, majority of tubes removed. Looks like I'll be heading home tomorrow, even though it makes me feel guilty.

Back "home" for a good night's rest before heading back to the hospital. Dad's not entirely comfortable, but things are manageable.

A much quieter day at the hospital so far. Hopefully the hardest part is done.

Back at the hospital after about 4 hours of sleep.

He's medically okay but in a lot of pain -- he's got a wicked-bad back and can't lay flat for long periods. See the problem?

We're now working shifts at the hospital to keep my Dad's care in line and make him as comfortable as we can.
|
|

It's so sad that, in order to get good care in a hospital, you must absolutely bring along family or friends to take care of you.
|

14 hours after we started, Dad is finally in his room. That took *way* too long.
