@robsog Thanks. I'm 38 today, but have been saying I'm 40 for about 2 years. Thus, when I actually turn 40 it'll be no shock at all.

@milancermak Are you planning on going to BarCamp Berlin? I might go.
@janbrasna To paraphrase Chevy Chase on Saturday Night Live "They're MediaTel and I'm not". I have *zero* pull at Google, so can't change it
@netroman @janbrasna Correction: Mercedes and VW sell diesel cars in the U.S., but only in states with lax emission standards (i.e. not CA).
@janbrasna @netroman As far as I know, there are no diesel passenger cars for sale in the U.S. But Audi has a 4.2l V8 gas engine for Q7.
Nelso.cz is finally the primary data provider for Google Maps in Prague. http://bit.ly/477DB2 Took months to arrange this.
@netroman Audi Q7 base costs 730k CZK in U.S., and 1.3m CZK in Prague. Bring the Audi you want from the U.S. - I did it, and it was easy.
@PragueBob My mom gets to Prague tomorrow at noon, so could do morning or late afternoon.
@PragueBob I did. I'm around all week. Should still be nice enough weather to sit on my terrace at the office.
A 1956 Kenmore washing machine cost $259 - http://bit.ly/12lkfs ($2,052 in 2008 dollars). Same machine today costs $329 http://bit.ly/2lwDLV
@milancermak For Chicago, my test item is the Cermak Pharmacy on Cermak Road near the "Cermak-Chinatown" subway stop: http://bit.ly/3YnEBN
@netroman A notary in CZ can easily make 750 CZK ($50) per hour. Full-time, that's $100,000 per year to rubber-stamp papers all day.
@milancermak Many developers don't have much database experience, and think of PostgreSQL as "complicated". They also think MySQL is faster.
Google Trends for the search term "prague hotels": http://tinyurl.com/5aef3v Down about 75% from 2004. Not good.
@PragueBob Not to mention that broadband is now common, rather than very rare as it was in 1999.
@PragueBob The very low U.S. dollar combined with the cross-language functionality would make it a very good business if started now.
@codeas The O2 unlimited data tariffs look quite reasonable http://tinyurl.com/5wa85q - cheaper than the U.S.
@PragueBob "EBay Is Planning to Emphasize Fixed-Price Sales Format". http://tinyurl.com/5ztyhg We had the right business, but too early.
My mom seems to have fixed the problems I was having with the www.nelso.com servers. Not surprising - she has been a programmer since 1966.
Switched the OS on my database server from Red Hat Linux to FreeBSD. I started on BSD *nix years ago, and am still more comfortable with it.
