Last day in Vietnam! Not sure what to do today besides EAT and DRINK. I'm pretty ready to go "home" to Berlin - joghurt, bier, i miss you.

Full of mi vit and kem trai dua. Great food day! Lunch was rice with tiny clams (com hen) followed by sapodilla juice and the Dark Knight.
Bangkok's state of emergency to last "a couple of days," perhaps it'll be finished when we arrive on Friday? http://tinyurl.com/5v242z
I woke up late enough that @mai had time to post a few photos of our trip: http://www.flickr.com/photo...
Our chao vit cook this evening was an amazing cook with an eye for presentation despite the fact that she's set up in a filthy alley. YUM.
The weather's a bit chilly for the bikinis but it's worth it for the tan lines. $3 silk scarf from Hoi An keeping me warm.
Beautiful sparkling-bright cool day in Da Lat. The breeze coming in the window this morning smelled floral. Feeling slow this morning.
People are all bundled in hoodies and peacoats for the 25-degree (c) weather of Da Lat while we're sipping lemon soda in our bikinis.
Also spelled xa po^ che^, called sapodilla in english. Native to mexico, introduced to the phillipines. Tastes like cotton candy or caramel.
Trying to figure out what VN fruit sam bu che^ is called in english. Looks like a potato, orange-brown inside, black seeds embedded. Anyone?
@crankyuser congrats on your talk! Was it recorded?
Da Nang is all modern/fancy with its gprs network, crazy development projects, and VN's 3rd largest airport (3 gates).
Not the best food day in Hoi Anh, but finished up with delicious custard apple ice cream. Oh and saw amazing ruins. Already ready for bed.
Looking forward to duck congee for lunch! Then we shall beach away the hot hot day.
Yay, data service on my bb! Checked work email, boo! On crazy sleeper bus to Hoi An; it started raining as soon as we got on. Weather luck!!
Delicious congee for breakfast in Hue. Car possibly stolen in Oakland. Off to see some ruins in a couple minutes - whee!
Spent the afternoon riding the jankiest bike ever - off-true wheel w half-flat tire, etc, w @mai around Hue. Glad for HCMC traffic training.
Interneting in @mai's room while she packs for our trip to Pho Quoc (beach!). Trip so far: HCMC unbelievable, food delicious, durian stinky.
Fun facts: SF and HCMC are about the same distance from Berlin! SF to HCMC is a lot farther! I get on plane to Bangkok now. @mai see u soon.
I don't know what it is that's so delicious about the combination of cold ham and butter, but it's undeniable.
